We previously announced that we would be showing Cannibal Apocalypse in tribute to the late great Giovanni Lombardo Radice who was with us earlier this year at the festival but sadly passed away on April 27th.
But we also have three other gems from Italian Cinema celebrating horrors heyday when the line between horror and thrillers became blurred.
In addition to Cannibal Apocalypse we are also offering up Aldo Lado's Who Saw Her Die? a killer thriller shot against a venetian backdrop, Lucio Fulci's The Beyond, which sees a hotelier exposed to a gateway to Hell and Dario Argento's best movie Profondo Rosso (aka Deep Red) in which a jazz pianist investigates the chilling death of a psychic. All films are being screened in the best available prints, including the recent Cinecitta restoration of Profondo Rosso as screened as part of the Argento season at the BFI.
