Ian McCulloch is a Scottish actor who has had a long and varied career on stage, film, and television. He is perhaps best known for his role as Greg Preston in the BBC post-apocalyptic drama series Survivors.
Survivors was a British post-apocalyptic drama series that ran from 1975 to 1977. The series was set in a world that had been decimated by a deadly virus. The few survivors of the virus had to learn to rebuild their lives in a world that was very different from the one they had known. McCulloch played the role of Greg Preston, a pragmatic and resourceful man who was one of the survivors of the virus.Greg was a natural leader and he quickly became one of the most important members of the group of survivors. Despite being one of the series prime focuses, Greg ventured off on a separate adventure for season 3 of the show putting the focus squarely on the other characters. Although he does return to wave the series out.
McCulloch's performance in Survivors was widely praised. He was seen as the perfect choice to play the role of Greg Preston. He brought a sense of realism and believability to the role as he does with everything he does from Cromwell through to the much loved horror movies The Ghoul, Zombie Flesh Eaters, Zombie Holocaust and Contamination .
Ian McCulloch is a respected actor who has made a significant contribution to British television and film. His performance in Survivors is still fondly regarded by fans of the show.
